Co-operative
The Co-operative sector has been playing a distinct and significant role in the process of socio-economic development of Idukki District. In Idukki the Co-operative sector serve the people of the region mainly by providing financial assistance through co-operative societies. They also help the farmers by providing seeds fertilizers and training to the societies. The housing co-operative societies plays a significant role in the health sector of the district. A large number of students are studying in the schools and colleges working in the co-operative sector. The woman co-operative societies plays a significant role in the empowerment of women in the district.
In District wise the co-operative department has two wings namely the General wing and Audit wing. General wing is headed by Joint Registrar of Co-operative societies (General).
Under Joint Registrar there are 4 Taluk Offices in Idukki District.
In Idukki Joint Registrar Office is situated in Painavu and there are 4 Taluk Office in Udumbanchola, Thodupuzha, Devikulam and Peermade. Taluk Head is Assistant Registrar.
